Lou Noto recognized as LEED Accredited Professional

Lou NotoLou Noto, AIA, 39, of Bolingbrook, principle with DLA Architects, Ltd. (DLA) has been designated a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED-AP) by the United States Green Building Council. Noto now joins several architects and employees with DLA who have earned the LEED-AP designation.

The United States Green Building Council is a national not-for-profit organization. Formed in 1993, the council promotes the design, construction and operation of buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

LEED-certified buildings:

  • Lower operating costs and increased asset value.
  • Reduce waste sent to landfills.
  • Conserve energy and water.
  • Healthier and safer for occupants.
  • Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Qualify for tax rebates, zoning allowances and other incentives in hundreds of cities.
  • Demonstrate an owner’s commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

Noto earned a bachelor of architecture in structures from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After his graduation in 1995, he immediately began work as an intern architect at DLA. During the past 14 years, Noto has worked as a draftsman, job captain, project architect, project manager and more recently director of project management.

Noto is a member of United States Green Building Council and the American Institute of Architects.

To commemorate 25 years of exceptional service and to usher in the next quarter century, in 2008 Dahlquist and Lutzow Architects, Ltd. became DLA Architects, Ltd. The new name DLA Architects reflects a commitment to architecture and a corporate vision to provide superior design services.
